International Speed Post, also referred to as EMS, is a premium service brought to you by India Post. EMS deals with international postal delivery and courier services. It is quite popular among the masses for fast delivery, cost-effectiveness, and tracking services for documents and merchandise.

1. Speed Post: It’s a premium service of India post for delivering Documents, Samples and commercial shipment around the world, faster delivery with Premium price. Weight per box is 30kgs, but some countries may have different weight acceptance per box.
2. Registered Parcel (Small Packet)
   It’s usually used for documents and small samples from 50gm to 2kg, almost all countries are served under this service. GST is not applicable on freight charges of this service.
3. Air Parcel:
   It’s a service for all kind of parcels, especially for weight above 2kgs. Parcel weight start from 250gm to 30kgs, in this service also, Almost all countries are served. GST is not applicable on freight charges of this service.
4. International Track Parcel (ITP):
   This Service recently started by Postal department of India, initially, only Asian Countries were served, later USA and Canada also included, Weight start from 50gms to 2kgs only

Weight Restrictions

Like any other shipping agency, there are certain weight restrictions involved with international speed post. The maximum weight that you can send in the form of international speed post is 30 kilograms. The dimensions of the postal article for international posts should be within 1.5 meters in breadth and 3 meters in length. The weight restrictions apply according to the destination country where you are sending the shipment.

Delivery Standards

All International Speed Post (EMS), Registered post, Air Parcel, International Track Parcel articles are subject to customs examination. Period for customs examination/ detention is not included in the service standards. These are "End to End" delivery standards. Delivery standards usually varies from 3 – 9 days for different countries.

Prohibited Articles

While shipping internationally through Speed Post, you must take care of specific articles that are banned. For example, explosives, dangerous, living creatures, obscene prints, etc. are prohibited.
